Missouri City residents can meet local candidates over light bites and refreshments at a free networking event Thursday, Oct. 15, at Wellby Financial's Sienna Branch on Hwy 6.

The Missouri City Chamber of Commerce is opening its regular Business After Hours Retreat (BAR) mixer to all eligible local candidates, inviting them to introduce themselves and mingle one-on-one with attendees. The event runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at 8215 Hwy 6, Missouri City.

The Chamber, a nonpartisan organization, said in its event listing that the evening is not a debate or traditional candidate forum. Candidates will briefly introduce themselves, then mix with the crowd the same way any other guest would.

The format skips formal programs, structured Q&A and forced pitches. The Chamber described the mixer as an after-hours networking experience focused on business, relationships and community connection, with a chance to meet candidates seeking to represent the area.

Admission is free. Registration is encouraged through the Chamber's website or Eventbrite. The event is open to business owners, nonprofit leaders, community partners, Chamber members and anyone in the community.

Wellby Financial is serving solely as the host location and does not endorse or support any individual candidate, according to the event listing.

The mixer lands four days before early voting opens for the Nov. 3 midterm election. Early voting runs Oct. 19 through Oct. 30, according to Houston Public Media. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3.
