All lanes on Sienna Ranch Road will close at the Fort Bend Parkway on Wednesday, Oct. 21, and Thursday, Oct. 22, for bridge construction work.

The Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority announced the closures in its weekly lane closure schedule.

Tolls will be waived during the detour only at the Sienna Ranch Toll Plaza. All other tolls are still in effect.

The closures follow nightly lane shutdowns at the same intersection Oct. 6-8, when Webber installed bridge beams, as we reported Oct. 6. Those earlier closures ran from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.

The Oct. 21-22 work will close the entire intersection along Sienna Ranch Road, as the previous closure did, while crews continue bridge deck construction. All traffic will have the option to make a U-turn back onto Sienna Ranch Road. Only northbound traffic heading toward Highway 6 will be detoured onto the eastbound toll road, where tolls will be waived for detoured drivers.

The bridge spans Sienna Ranch Road on the Fort Bend Parkway, which the toll road authority extended to Sienna Ranch Road on Nov. 6, 2023, when it opened Segment B2. That segment runs from Sienna Parkway to Sienna Ranch Road.

Covering Katy also reported the closures, noting that the week of Oct. 19-26 will bring lane work on the Grand Parkway and Fort Bend Parkway. No closures are scheduled for the Westpark Tollway.

No broader project timeline or cost has been released for the bridge work. The toll road authority posts updated closure schedules weekly on its website at fbctra.com.
