Missouri City families looking for a low-key way to ease into the school year can grab their pajamas and head to the Sienna Branch Library starting Monday, Aug. 10, for a free weekly story time series that runs through late September.

Fort Bend County Libraries is launching Pajama Night Story Time with a "Back to School" kickoff session from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the library's meeting room. Each Monday evening, families will hear stories, sing songs and move through action rhymes before wrapping up with a hands-on craft activity. The program is open to infants, preschoolers and elementary-age children, and the library encourages attendees to come in pajamas and bring blankets.

Pajamas and blankets are welcome.

The series features seven themed sessions: Back to School (Aug. 10), Bedtime (Aug. 17), Bathtime (Aug. 24), Forest Animals (Aug. 31), My Family (Sept. 14), Going to the Fair (Sept. 21) and Celebrating Hispanic Heritage (Sept. 28). There is no session on Sept. 7 due to Labor Day. The finale coincides with National Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs Sept. 15 through Oct. 15.

No registration is listed on the event page. Families with questions can contact Youth Services at the Sienna Branch Library at (281) 238-2900.

The Sienna Branch Library is located at 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd., Missouri City, TX 77459. Interim branch manager Mary Steel-Muschel oversees the location, which is open Mondays from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
