Missouri City residents have until the end of August to tell the city what they want from their parks, trails and recreation programs over the next five years.

The city is collecting responses for a five-year update to its Parks, Recreation & Open Spaces Master Plan through an online survey that asks about priorities including new trails, playgrounds, events, programs and park amenities.

The city said on X on Aug. 11 that there is still time for residents to help shape the future of Missouri City's parks, trails, facilities, programs and open spaces, calling it an opportunity for residents with ideas for new amenities, improvements to a favorite park or programs they'd like to see offered.

The survey is the only remaining way to participate. The city held a public input meeting on Thursday, Aug. 6, at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers at 1522 Texas Parkway.

Missouri City's park system includes 21 parks spanning 515 developed acres and 14.4 miles of trails connecting neighborhoods, schools and recreation centers, according to a 2025 city guide. The Recreation & Tennis Center at 2701 Cypress Point Drive serves as the system's main hub for sports, fitness and programs.

Note: the Recreation & Tennis Center will be closed for yearly maintenance Aug. 17 through Aug. 23 and reopens Aug. 24.
