Singas Famous Pizza, a nearly 60-year-old New York chain, has opened its second Greater Houston location in the Riverstone community along University Boulevard, giving residents along the Missouri City/Sugar Land corridor a new spot for handmade pies and halal eats.

The restaurant at 18802 University Blvd., Ste. 140, Sugar Land is now open, according to Community Impact Newspaper, which confirmed the opening with company officials on Sunday, Aug. 9.

The menu goes well beyond pizza. Diners can order salads, sandwiches, chicken wings, burgers, wraps and desserts, all made with fresh ingredients, according to the company's website. The chain's broader offerings at other locations include pastas, sub sandwiches, chicken tenders, jalapeño poppers and garlic bread, CultureMap Houston reported in June 2025 when Singas announced Texas expansion plans.

The Riverstone opening fulfills the Stafford-area location in that expansion plan. CultureMap's 2025 report said the chain planned stores in Cypress, Katy and Stafford, with the Riverstone store serving the southwest corridor. The first Greater Houston location opened on Cypress Creek Parkway in northwest Houston.

A Queens original

Mr. and Mrs. Bill Singas opened the first location in 1967 in Queens, New York. The chain now operates 34 locations across Georgia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York and Maryland, with Texas representing a new growth market.

The Riverstone location had been in the pipeline since at least Dec. 22, 2025, when Community Impact first reported the lease at the University Boulevard address.

Residents can check the location's Facebook page for updates on any grand opening promotions.
