Stafford High School earned an A rating on the 2026 Texas Education Agency accountability scores, posting a 90 out of 100 and climbing four points from 2025. Three of the district's five campuses now hold A ratings as Stafford Municipal School District opened the school year with its strongest results in recent memory.
All five campuses improved.
The district announced the results Thursday, Aug. 13, one day before TEA's official statewide release on Friday, Aug. 14. Students had returned to class just two days earlier, on Tuesday, Aug. 11.
Stafford MSD earned an overall B rating with a score of 85, a seven-point jump from last year, according to the district's announcement. Here's how each campus scored:
- Stafford STEM Magnet Academy: 97 (A)
- Stafford Early Childhood Center: 97 (A)
- Stafford High School: 90 (A, up 4 points)
- Stafford Middle School: 81 (B, up 12 points)
- Stafford Elementary School: 73 (C, up 13 points)
The biggest single-campus gain belonged to Stafford Elementary, which jumped 13 points to reach a C. Stafford Middle School was close behind with a 12-point increase, as we reported Thursday.
District leadership said in the Aug. 13 release that the B rating is an accomplishment but not the district's final destination, pledging to continue supporting every campus and working toward excellence for every student. The district's stated goal is ensuring 100% of graduates leave college or career ready without remediation.
As of October 2024, 94% of Stafford MSD graduates had met TEA's College, Career, and Military Readiness indicator, 18 percentage points above the state average of 76%, according to district data published in the Spartan Spotlight newsletter.
Superintendent Dr. Adam Stephens, referenced in June 2026 budget workshop materials, oversees a district of 3,560 students as of April spanning Fort Bend and Harris counties. The accountability release did not name a specific speaker for the district's statements.
Full statewide comparisons will be available after TEA publishes all district and campus ratings on Friday, Aug. 14, giving Stafford families a clearer picture of where their schools stand relative to peers across Texas.
