The Elkins Knights host Clear Falls at Challenger Stadium on Thursday, Sept. 10, with kickoff set for 6:30 p.m.

Elkins enters the Week 3 non-district game at 1-1. The Knights dropped their season opener to Katy Mayde Creek 35-38 in double overtime on Saturday, Aug. 29, then responded with a 37-13 win over Pearland Dawson on Friday, Sept. 4.

The double-overtime loss stung, but the Dawson result showed a team capable of putting up points and pulling away. Elkins scored 37 against Dawson after putting up 35 in a back-and-forth opener, according to KXAN's Week 2 scoreboard.

Clear Falls, a Class 6A program out of League City, arrives at 0-2. The team lost to Pearland 3-49 in its opener on Friday, Aug. 28.

The second week was not much kinder. Clear Falls fell to Humble Kingwood 42-31 on Thursday, Sept. 3. Kingwood quarterback Landon Hinson set a program record with six touchdown passes in that game, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Through two games, Clear Falls has been outscored 91-34. MaxPreps ranks the team No. 282 in Texas heading into the matchup.

The Elkins football program announced the game on X on Thursday morning. Tickets are available through GoFan.

Clear Falls plays at Barbers Hill on Sept. 18 after the trip to Missouri City.
