Elkins running back Tyson Craft posted 209 rushing yards and four touchdowns in the Knights' season opener, earning him Offensive Player of the Game honors from the program.

The Fort Bend Elkins Football program announced on X on Wednesday, Sept. 2, that Craft and middle linebacker Mikael Jones were the Week 1 Players of the Game. Jones took the defensive award after posting 10 solo tackles, two assists and one pass breakup, according to his stat line shared on X.

Both juniors delivered standout individual performances despite a 38-35 loss at Mayde Creek on Friday, Aug. 28. The non-conference road game came down to three points.

Craft powers the ground game

Craft, a 5-foot-9, 190-pound Class of 2027 running back, also hauled in one reception in the loss. He shared his stat line on X on Aug. 30, reflecting on the result before turning his attention forward.

@tysoncraft2027: "Not the result we wanted, focused on week two."

After the program named him Offensive Player of the Game on Sept. 2, Craft posted again on X: "Locked in, on to the next."

Jones anchors the defense
