Kids in Missouri City and Stafford can earn free reserved seats to Monster Jam by reading five books at their local Fort Bend County Libraries branch. A separate program offers Disney on Ice tickets through the same Reward Club Card system.

The library system is running two reading incentive programs for children ages 2 to 12. Rev Up to Read rewards young readers with a free ticket to Monster Jam at NRG Stadium on Oct. 17. Reading is Cool offers a free ticket to Disney on Ice, which runs Nov. 12 through Nov. 15 at the same venue.

To participate, parents can pick up an official Reward Club Card at the Youth Services Department of any Fort Bend County Libraries location. A librarian stamps the card for each book a child reads. Five stamps earn one free reserved-seat ticket for Monster Jam. The number of books required for the Disney on Ice program is listed on the Reading is Cool card.

Three branches serve the Missouri City and Stafford area: the Missouri City Branch Library at 1530 Texas Parkway, the Sienna Branch Library at 8411 Sienna Springs Blvd. in Missouri City and the Mamie George Branch Library at 320 Dulles Ave. in Stafford.

Rules to know

Each family can earn a maximum of two free children's tickets, and each child can earn only one. An adult must purchase a ticket to redeem the free child's ticket. Children younger than 2 do not need a ticket for either event.

For Disney on Ice, any paid tickets will be seated next to the free child's ticket. Once a card is fully stamped, parents redeem it at the stadium box office. The Reward Club Card itself lists box office hours, addresses and redemption dates, according to Fort Bend County Libraries.

The ticket programs are one of several read-to-earn initiatives from the library system. Fort Bend County Libraries ran a similar program called Reading with Ringling in partnership with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey in summer 2026.

Fort Bend County Libraries Director Roosevelt Weeks has highlighted the region's literacy challenges. "Whether people know it or not, there's quite a few people in our area and also in the Houston surrounding areas where at least 30 percent or one-third of the people cannot read," Weeks told Houston Public Media in September, when the library launched a separate virtual Read-A-Thon for World Literacy Day.
