Drivers on the Grand Parkway near Missouri City and Stafford should expect nightly main-lane closures and daytime frontage-road work starting Monday, Aug. 31.
The Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority posted its weekly closure schedule on Friday, Aug. 28, listing multiple Grand Parkway projects through the first week of September.
Overnight main-lane closures
Southbound main lanes on the Grand Parkway will close in alternating fashion at two locations Monday night, Aug. 31, into Tuesday morning, Sept. 1: at New Territory and at US-90A. Both closures run from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Contractor TransCore is handling the work.
The toll road authority's notice does not specify whether the two sites are separate closure zones or one continuous stretch.
Daytime frontage-road closures
Three sets of frontage-road closures will affect drivers during business hours:
- Mason Road and Farmer Road: Northbound and southbound alternating lane closures, Monday, Aug. 31 through Sept. 3. Daily, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Contractors: BGE and LJA Consulting.
- Peek Road: Northbound and southbound alternating lane closures, Monday, Aug. 31 through Sept. 4. Daily, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Contractors: BGE and Traffic Systems Construction.
Other toll roads unaffected
No closures are scheduled on the Westpark Tollway or the Fort Bend Parkway for the week of Aug. 31 through Sept. 7, according to the toll road authority.
The authority's notice does not name the specific construction projects behind the closures. The full schedule is available on the FBCTRA website.
