Missouri City's free OktoberFest celebration returns to Quail Valley Golf Club on Saturday, Sept. 19, with live music, traditional food, games and the Wiener Dog Race.
The city's Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the annual event from 5 to 8 p.m. at the club, 2880 La Quinta Dr., according to the city's event calendar. Admission is free.
The event listing highlights the Wiener Dog Race as a signature attraction. The race is scheduled to begin around 6 p.m., according to the registration page on Active.com. Dachshund owners who want their dogs to compete can sign up through that page. The Missouri City Parks and Recreation Department is listed as the race organizer.
OktoberFest follows the same format the city used in 2025, when the event was held Sept. 20 at the same Quail Valley venue with the same 5-to-8 p.m. window. The Quail Valley Golf Club describes the celebration as Missouri City's annual Oktoberfest experience featuring beer, bratwurst and live music.
Specific performers, food vendors and game lineups for the Sept. 19 event have not been announced.
The city has not released details on how many dachshunds can enter the race or whether registration will close before event day. Owners interested in the race should check Active.com for updates.
