Ridge Point High School will hold girls basketball tryouts starting Wednesday, Oct. 21.

The Missouri City school posted the announcement on its official news page on Monday, Sept. 21. Oct. 21 is the first day UIL rules permit girls basketball practice statewide for the 2026-27 season.

The school has not posted a tryout time or location.

Ridge Point competes in UIL 6A District 21 alongside Fort Bend Elkins and six other schools. The Panthers finished the 2025-26 season 13-21 overall and 8-6 in district, according to MaxPreps. Head coach Dominique Thomas led the program last season, though no head coach is listed for 2026-27.

Under the UIL's tentative calendar, the first scrimmage date is Oct. 31 and the first game date is Nov. 6. Students should contact the Ridge Point athletics department for tryout details.
