Ridge Point's offense kept rolling Thursday, Sept. 17, as the Panthers beat Strake Jesuit 38-6 in their Homecoming game and district opener at Sugar Land.

Wide receiver Suhaib Ramseur, a Florida Atlantic commit, led the attack with seven catches for 166 yards and two touchdowns. It was the second straight game in which Ramseur topped 100 receiving yards and scored twice, after a similar performance in Week 3 against Cypress Bridgeland.

Senior quarterback Brody Bartee, also a Florida Atlantic commit, continued his strong start to the season. Through four games, Bartee is completing 69.4% of his passes for 343.3 yards per game with 15 touchdowns and two interceptions, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Bartee and Ramseur aren't working alone. Fellow receivers John Rangel and Caiden Lawrence are each averaging more than 100 all-purpose yards per game. Rangel leads the group with 126.5 receiving yards per game and five touchdowns. Lawrence adds 77.3 receiving yards per game and three scores.

The win pushed Ridge Point to 4-0. The loss dropped Strake Jesuit, which entered 0-3 in its first season in 6A Region III, District 21, to 0-4.

The Panthers' defense held Strake Jesuit to six points, continuing a strong start. Head coach Rick LaFavers' unit features several returners from a 2025 squad that went 11-1 and sent 16 players to Division I programs, according to the Defender Network. Senior linebacker Dyllon Bennett, reigning district defensive lineman of the year Chris Racey and four-star junior linebacker Brayden Bonik, who holds more than 40 college offers, anchor that group.

"Last year I transferred in and was still growing into that leadership role, and I feel this year I'm taking it on," Bartee told the Defender Network on Sept. 16, the day before the Strake Jesuit game.

Four games in, Bartee is backing up those words. Ridge Point is averaging 37.8 points per game, and the Panthers have outscored opponents 151-74 through their non-district slate and district opener combined.

The performance earned Ridge Point a climb in the state polls. Dave Campbell's Texas Football ranked the Panthers No. 7 in Class 6A in its Week 4 rankings published Monday, Sept. 21. Sports Illustrated's Texas Top 25 placed them at No. 14 on Tuesday, Sept. 22.

Ridge Point travels to Fort Bend Clements on Friday, Sept. 25, for its second district game.
