Stafford's homecoming ended in a 42-14 loss to Hamshire-Fannett on Friday, Sept. 18, at SMSD Stadium.
The Spartans entered the Week 4 non-district matchup with momentum from a 29-25 win over Bellville in Week 3. The Stafford Municipal School District athletics page had described the team as "on a roll" heading into the game, with the Spartans hoping to extend a winning streak in front of a homecoming crowd.
Hamshire-Fannett had other plans. The Longhorns put up 42 points against a Stafford defense that had held Bellville to 25 a week earlier, according to CW39 Houston's scoreboard roundup.
The loss leaves Stafford with one non-district game remaining before district play begins. The Spartans' next opponent is Dobie at SMSD Stadium.
